2020 – The Year of a Global Pandemic and a New Clinic – Haswell Aesthetics
“Competition is a very tricky word. I think the only person you should be in competition with is yourself, because everybody is different. So personally, I don’t think so, no. For example, there’s over 100 builders in Colchester. Each with their own business and they’re all busy. Different people like different things/places and everybody has a different market” – Natalie Haswell on whether there is a lot of competition in Colchester.
If you have followed Colchester Streets for a while, you may remember our first visit to Haswell Aesthetics back in 2019. Well, despite the global pandemic, Natalie invited us back, as she has bravely opened a new clinic! If you’re new, firstly, hi and thanks for joining us. Haswell Aesthetics is a medical practitioner and has been a qualified medical nurse for over 15 years. She only offers medical aesthetics and no beauty treatments.
Haswell Aesthetics is now based on the outskirts of Colchester and is easily accessible from the A12. Natalie wanted to create a clinic that is both welcoming, relaxing and also offers patients privacy.
The clinic is a new building and offers lots of light, tranquility and comfort. It is a space that provides specialist treatments, expertly led consultations, and a safe space to express concerns, insecurities or fears regarding treatments patients are considering.
One of the things Colchester Streets love about Haswell Aesthetics (and Natalie) is her openness and honesty. More and more places are now offering aesthetic treatments, but guidelines state you should only trust medically trained professionals. They will be licensed to get their treatments from official, regulated pharmaceuticals, therefore making their treatments safe and more importantly – traceable. Natalie proves herself on this as she safeguards herself and her patients by guaranteeing the products are safe to use, and if anything happens to go wrong, she has the batch number to trace it back to the company for that accountability.
Natalie will also have a full consultation with patients before taking them on. She does not believe in administering treatments if the patient does not need them. The full consultation includes a head-to-toe review of the patient. It ranges from complete medical history to psychological history. This enables both parties to discuss whether the treatment is truly needed and will be beneficial to the person. Natalie will always advise against getting one if she believes it is not right for the patient. This show of integrity is extremely admirable and is just one of the reasons Natalie has so many regular clients. It is not just about taking your money.
Medical aesthetics are what Natalie specialises in. These range from anything such as skin treatments for acne scarring, chemical peels, medical micro-needling, medical grade skincare right through to injectables, restoring, rejuvenating and tweaking (wrinkle and filler injections). Part of Natalie’s business is about education. She is very passionate about educating people on the treatments she offers and how they could be of some benefit – whether that’s for physical or mental benefit. It’s not something you should go into lightly.
Natalie’s new clinic is all about education and providing a positive experience for her patients. Although 2020 has been largely unprecedented, stability is the one thing Haswell Aesthetics can offer. We loved visiting the new clinic and it’s safe to say we truly admire Natalie for her approach to her business and the brilliant advice she gives her patients.
